- The brackets for ‘Tag Wars 2010’ were released earlier in the week and now the predictions have run rampant. The card for next Saturday night in Chicago has been rounded out with two more Opening Round matches, and the competition in the Tag Team division is set to explode. Don’t forget that you can have a say in what stipulations make up the Final match – Ultimate Endurance – on August 28th when ROH invades Charlotte, NC once again. Beginning on June 26th, email your votes to ROHFansVoice@gmail.com. Once again ROH gives you the chance to become involved! - Fans in suburban St. Louis will get a perfect taste of Tag Team fare when the American Wolves battle Generation Me (formerly the Young Bucks) on July 23rd. Davey Richards had a prediction of his own: “Tag Wars is about to begin, and here we are with perhaps our toughest test before it begins. I know Tag Team wrestling. Eddie [Edwards] knows Tag Team wrestling. We ARE Tag Team wrestling. St. Louis is the place where that dominance is born again. The Bucks know who we are. They know what we can do. The hunt begins again in St. Louis, and ends in Charlotte.” Tickets for July 23 in STL are available NOW!!! Wolves/GenMe! The Briscoes and Kong versus the KoW and del Rey! And HATE: Chapter 2 – Steen versus Generico!!! If you’re anywhere near the St. Louis area you NEED to be with us on July 23rd!!!

- BREAKING NEWS: We told you last week that a challenge was issued to ROH World Champion Tyler Black for THIS FRIDAY in Philadelphia. We can now confirm that Black has reviewed this challenge and has accepted! A special non-title challenge match has been signed. It will be Tyler Black facing “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels in Philly! “It’s time to make a statement,” said Daniels. “[Davey] Richards is trying his best not to face what he already knows, but at least Black has guts. It boils down to proving who is best. Tyler beat Davey in Toronto and now I will best Tyler. It’s only a matter of time. I will prove I’m the best in the world, and that’s the gospel…” Tickets for this Friday in Philly are available here! Black versus Daniels! Don’t miss it!

- ROH Officials cited Black’s upcoming World Title match against Kevin Steen on July 24th in Chicago as the main reason behind why the championship will not be at stake in Philadelphia against Daniels. Black had no comment on the matter other than to say, “Steen is first on the list. I’m done playing nice.” Take a look at why Black is hell bent on putting Steen away on our official YOUTUBE.   And stay tuned to ROH on HDNet next Monday night for more fireworks between these two! Steen is ready to send a message and El Generico is not his only target!!

- Also signed for THIS FRIDAY in Philadelphia are two big tag matches. First, ‘Tag Wars 2010’ Opening Round action will take place as the Dark City Fight Club will face off with the Embassy’s Shawn Daivari and Mr. Ernesto Osiris! Prince Nana has secured two teams in ‘Tag Wars’, and the DCFC is ready to wage war in order to prove themselves. Also, the maniacal Kevin Steen and Steve Corino have signed to face the Super Smash Brothers next Friday! Steen is preparing to World Title battle, and the SSB seem to strike a nerve whenever they face Steen. Be with us in South Philly to see it all unfold!

- Added to the card THIS SATURDAY in South Philly is a tag team bout that could be a precursor to the finals of Tag Wars. El Generico and Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana face a huge test in Chicago when the face the American Wolves, but the testing doesn’t get any bigger than the World Tag Team Champions. “We are done with the Briscoes,” said Claudio Castagnoli, “And we have proven our might. We have Shane Hagadorn ready to boycott all championship contracts until Ring of Honor can find us a team worthy of the honor. Cabana and Generico are not worthy.” More on this as it develops.

- Tickets for our huge return to the Windy City are still available and we are a little over a week away! Don’t miss out on the four ‘Tag Wars’ bouts as well as the World Title grudge match! And don’t forget the huge dream tag team match between Generation Me and the ROH World Champion Kings of Wrestling! Plus Amazing Kong looks to settle the score with Sara del Rey! This card from top-to-bottom is action packed! Check out http://chicagoprowrestling.com/index.cgi?board=shows&action=display&thread=18113&page=1 for a look at tings as well as your chance to win FREE tickets to this big event!

- ROH Officials are nearing the completion of negotiations for a high profile talent to appear at ‘Glory By Honor IX’.

- Prince Nana has demanded that Grizzly Redwood pay for embarrassing Erick Stevens the last time ROH rolled through Philadelphia. Signed for suburban St. Louis on 7/23 is Stevens versus Redwood! Can the littlest lumberjack pull off another win? Or will Nana and crew chop him down in the STL?

ROH NEWS WIRE JULY 8th

- BREAKING NEWS: Davey Richards' challenge to Roderick Strong has been answered. ROHWrestling.com obtained an email from Truth Martini late last night and it is official: Roderick Strong will face Davey Richards next Friday night in Philadelphia! Martini said in part, "Davey Richards knows not the truth, yet only his own selfish desires. A man who says his time draws near, rushing to try and obtain a goal that he's failed at once already. Roderick has been to the dance as well, and after he saw the truth about the way ROH is governed has he become ready to take the next step. And it will be taken. Davey Richards? He cares only about himself, and that is the truth that will break his back." Next Friday, July 16th, it's Richards versus Strong in Philly! Both men turned in a classic 20-Minute draw in Chicago on April 24th. What will the outcome be with Roderick Strong's guaranteed ROH World Title match at stake? Be there and find out! Tickets are available now!!!

- Sources indicated to ROHWrestling.com that ROH World Champion Tyler Black has been challenged to a bout for July 16th in Philadelphia as well. It is not known as of yet who has issued the challenge or whether a ROH World Title bout was requested. The only information we received was that the person making the challenge "feels like there is something to prove to everyone in Ring of Honor". More to come.

- Speaking of Tyler Black, the Fight Network did a feature piece on the ROH World Champion. Black also sat down with Casey Carnage and talked about ROH's Louisville, KY debut on July 22nd. Don't forget, great general admission seats for the "Bluegrass Brawl" are going fast here. We expect this event to sell out; get your tickets while they last!!

- Sources close to Kevin Steen have indicated that he's got something "very important" to say to Tyler Black before they tangle in Chicago. We'll have more on that as it becomes available. In addition, Steve Corino commented: "The chains that have bound Steen to that disease, El Generico, must be broken. They must be broken to cleanse his soul. He's so close, and soon it will be done."

- Speaking of Steen, he's signed for a Pick 6 Challenge match on Saturday, July 17th. It'll be Steen putting his number three rank in the Pick 6 up against former ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn! Lynn is ready to climb that mountain again, and he's chosen the maniacal Steen as his first step. Be there on July 17th to find out what happens! Don't forget that the event that day has a special 4pm belltime. For ticket information, check out the ROH Store!!

- The Super Smash Brothers and the American Wolves are involved in Tag Wars 2010, but find themselves in different tournament blocks. We've just learned that both teams signed to face one another on July 17th in Philadelphia before the tournament was announced! Come see tag team wrestling at its finest and take a look at two of the teams that could find themselves in Ultimate Endurance on August 28th in Charlotte! It's the fiery Super Smash Brothers versus the American Wolves on 7/17 in Philly!

- We'll be back next week with a look at the brackets for Tag Wars 2010 as well as the final cards for the huge tripleshot weekend July 22-23-24 in Louisville, St. Louis, and Chicago! Have a great weekend!

VERY COOL NEWS!!

Ring of Honor has always been proud of having perhaps the strongest Tag Team division in all of professional wrestling. The list of former ROH World Tag Team Champions reads like a veritable “who’s who” of wrestling, with names like Mark and Jay Briscoe, CM Punk and Colt Cabana, Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, Kevin Steen and El Generico, and the American Wolves living as symbols of Ring of Honor Tag Team prowess throughout the industry.

And now once again Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli – the Kings of Wrestling – wear the coveted World Tag Team Titles and have through their passion and skill (as well as a little golden elbow pad) made their contentions well-known and arrogantly simple: There is no team on Earth capable of beating them.

Ring of Honor Officials have decided to set forth a plan to test their claims and find out if the current ROH Tag Team division is hungry enough to prove them wrong. Therein lies the reasoning behind “Tag Wars 2010”. “The Kings say they reign supreme,” said ROH on HDNet Executive producer Jim Cornette. “Well now they’ll have the perfect chance to show us all how great they really are.”

During the weekend of July 16th and 17th in Philadelphia, a twelve team single elimination tournament will begin and through this process the next great challenge for the Kings of Wrestling will become clear. This tournament will be broken into three blocks, with each block housing four teams. Two Opening Round matches will take place during the ROH on HDNet Television tapings that weekend at the Arena in South Philadelphia, with the remaining four Opening Round bouts occurring on July 24th when ROH returns to the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago, IL.

The remaining six teams will move onto the Semi-Final Round, which take place on August 27th as part of Ring of Honor’s debut event at the Raceway Complex in Richmond, VA.

The three winning teams in Richmond will move on to the Final Round of competition on August 28th at the Metrolina Expo in Charlotte, NC where they will find themselves in contention for the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship as all three teams will face the Kings of Wrestling in Ultimate Endurance!

Hero and Castagnoli will put the ROH World Tag Team Championship on the line in Charlotte against the winner from each block of competitors and the final match will be fought under ‘Two-out-of-Three falls’ rules with stipulations for each fall to be voted on BY THE FANS! For the first time ever, you can decide what the competitors in Ultimate Endurance will face!

Fan voting will begin via email to ROHFansVoice@gmail.com on July 26th after Round One of “Tag Wars 2010” is complete. The complete brackets for “Tag Wars 2010” will be unveiled on Monday, July 12th with the following teams:

Block A
The House of Truth (Raymond/Able)
Necro Butcher and Erick Stevens
The Briscoe Brothers
“Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown and Grizzly Redwood

Block B
The American Wolves (Richards/Edwards)
The All-Night Express (King/Titus)

- BREAKING NEWS: Davey Richards, eying potential retirement at the end of 2010, has issued a challenge.
Travel complications prevented him from facing Roderick Strong last month in Buffalo, NY; now Richards wants Strong one-on-one in Philadelphia! "Roddy is a beast," said Richards, "but he has something I want – a guaranteed shot at the World Title. The Pick 6 can get you a shot, but I just had one, and I lost to the better man that night. But it will never happen again. I will dominate. Last time I faced Roderick Strong we went the time limit and he walked like a coward. The Roddy I knew was never a coward. He knows there is unfinished business, and I am raising the stakes. I challenge Roddy to be a man and put his title shot up in Philly. I don't have time to wait for the ROH Booking Committee to give me another chance. Roddy has a chance and I want to take it." ROH Officials have reached out to Strong's adviser, Truth Martini, but have not received comment. More on this as it develops.

- Did you see Monday's episode of ROH on HDNet??? If not, you missed one of the best tag team matches of 2010, and the first in-ring interaction between Christopher Daniels and Davey Richards. Daniels has intimated that Richards is purposely avoiding a one-on-one match with him. Is he? Shane Hagadorn has rebuffed that accusation time and again, saying, "When the time is right, the time will be right." If you missed the airing, check out the recap to see what you missed, and if you don't have HDNet, call your local cable provider and DEMAND to see the best professional wrestling programming on American television!
